Two killed and four injured after car crash in Avalon Park, Chicago

Two were killed and four others were injured following a two-vehicle crash in the Avalon Park neighborhood, Chicago on Saturday night.

The crash took place when a Dodge Charger was traveling northbound in the 8200 block of South Stony Island Avenue at about 11:38 p.m. when it hit the driver side of a Nissan SUV that tried to cross from east to west on East 82nd Street.

The driver of Dodge, a 28-year-old man, was admitted to University of Chicago Hospital in serious condition.

The driver of Nissan, a 49-year-old woman, was hospitalized in serious condition.

Two others were also hospitalized.

Two passengers in the Nissan were admitted to the University of Chicago Hospital for treatment where they succumbed to their injuries.
