Two killed, four injured after car crash in Springdale

Two teenagers were killed and the other four were injured on Tuesday morning when the car in which they were traveling crashed into a tree.

The crash took place just before 10 a.m. on Vaughn Road east of Springdale, according to Arkansas State Police.

Victims identified as Christopher Elkar, 19, of Springdale, and Oliver Jacob, 18, of Siloam Springs, were both passengers in the car who died.

Matthew Gold, 21, of Tontitown, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox and was injured after he tried to negotiate a left corner and lost control. The car continued north into a ditch before it struck a tree.

Others who were injured in the crash have been identified as Steve Kosmes, 18, Gasber Laibwij, 20, and Absen Andres, 19. They are all from Springdale.
