Two killed, three injured after a tractor-trailer crash along I-95

Two people were killed and three others were injured after a tractor-trailer struck a parked SUV on Interstate 95 on Tuesday night.

The crash took place at around 9:45 p.m. in Halifax County, south of Roanoke Rapids when Bernard Reed, 33, from Baltimore, was driving the tractor-trailer during the incident.

The truck flipped on its side during the impact.

The driver of the SUV, identified as Kenrod Dabreo, 24, from Brooklyn, New York, was killed during the crash.

His backseat passenger, identified as LaKisha Dixon, 45 from Sumter, South Carolina, was also killed.

Three other passengers in the SUV were admitted to ECU Health in Greenville, one with serious injuries.

Details about Reed’s condition were not released.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
