Two drivers are dead and five passengers were injured on Tuesday after a car crash in Manatee County.
The crash took place when the sedan was traveling west on State Road 70, at the time when another car traveling east.
A 38-year-old driver of the sedan couldn’t maintain a single lane and entered the eastbound lanes. This resulted in the front left of the sedan to crash into the front left of another car.
The sedan then rotated and came to a rest on the westbound lane of the road while the other car struck a guardrail.
Both drivers, the 38-year-old driver of the sedan and the 26-year-old driver of the other car were pronounced dead at the scene.
Three girls, ages 5, 7 and 12 years old, were admitted to the hospital in critical condition after the crash. A 31-year-old woman was hospitalized.
A fifth passenger, a 31-year-old man was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
