2 police officers on paid leave after child left in patrol car dies

Two policeman in Mississippi are on paid leave after a 3-year-old child of among the officers died unattended in a patrol car.

Hancock County Chief Deputy Sheriff Don Bass stated Long Beach policeman Cassie Barker’s daughter passed away Friday after the kid was left in the car for four hours while her mother was checking out with Long Beach patrolman Clark Ladner. These two officers were off-duty at the time.

Long Beach Police Chief Wayne McDowell told that Barker and Ladner were put on administrative leave pending the result of an investigation.

Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam stated the car was running and the air conditioner was on when investigators discovered the kid, who passed away at a hospital.
