The Alfa Romeo Giulietta turned out to be a runaway success in a very short time. It is therefore all but natural for customers to yearn for more from this car. Fortunately, the company too did not dishearten its customers and have offered to set up a new engine called the 2.0 JTDM-2. This one is equipped with the latest generation JTDM-2 MultiJet Common Rail system.

With this technologically advanced feature which consists of an electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger, the total power that the engine delivers is 140 hp and peak torque is 350 Nm when the engine is doing 1750 rpm. The DNS selector should be kept in Dynamic position for this power rating. In normal case the power rating is 320 Nm at 1500 rpm. When compared to other cars of its genre this car has the highest torque factor.

Acceleration figures aren’t too disappointing for a car from this genre, capable as it is to do the 0 to 100 dash in 9 seconds flat. Similarly, the top speed of the new Giulietta is also impressive at 127 mph. The car also has the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) features installed as well as start stop feature. To improve control of temperature and gas flow in the engine there is also the close coupled diesel particulate filter and a built-in EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) in the engine.
