The European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) has awarded a five star rating to Citreon’s new 2011 C4 and also given it 97 percent in the Safety assist’ category. For any vehicle of its category this has been the highest score ever and Citroen for sure has plenty of reasons to rejoice.
To be launched in the early parts of 2011 the 2011 C4 would also be showcased during the Paris Auto Show slated to be held this October. The predecessor to this model was considered as the safest car to be running the roads and had a 2 star Euro NCAP rating too. The new C4 has the following safety features in it: ABS with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), EBA (Emergency Braking Assistance) and ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
Six airbags which would cover the driver, front passenger, front lateral and curtain are also installed which caters for all the occupants of the car. There is also the blind spot monitoring system integrated into the car. This system warns the driver about presence of cars in the driving vehicle’s blind spots.
For improved visibility at bends there are the cornering lights installed on the car. In order to help the driver respond quickly to some instant instances there is the Citroen eTouch Assistance System and the car also has cruise control and speed-limiter with five programmable road speed memory settings.
Most probably the engine that would be fitted on the car is the micro-hybrid e-HDi though this is yet to be confirmed by the car maker. With all its design features the car is expected to have lower CO2 emission levels limited to 109 g/km to 99 g/km. The car would also have Stop & Start systems for enhanced fuel efficiency.
