Spy Shots of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLK Roadster

by Alex

Spy shots of the next generation Mercedes-Benz SLK has been made available. The hardtop roadster car was being tested by its German automaker in the outskirts of the city with the outer shell made of black plastic.

It would be similar in looks and feel to the present version of the SLK which incidentally is the competitor for Stuttgart’s BMW Z4. The SLK would sport a two-piece folding roof of metal. However the model would have all the newest gadgets and accessories that are fitted out on the Mercedes.

The black suit armor cover that the prototype was being tested under forbade much of a view on the SLK’s real looks.  It is however expected that Mercedes would go for the grille design of the nose rather than the present F1 type of nose design. It is also expected that the headlamps would be more geometrically shaped in line with the SLS Gullwing model. Not only the external design it is even going to be the same for the interior design which is expected to conform with the dashboard styling of the Gullwing supercar.

The features of the car like handling characteristics are also expected to be different for this two-seater model. It would have C-class platform and suspension hardware which would provide better handling characteristics.

It  is expected to be powered by a  four cylinder and V6 petrol engine with AMG version of either twin-turbo V6 or a turbocharged V8 for the later versions of the car.
