While BMW 1-Series is falling behind, BMW is working on a new visual and performance package to revamp the new 1-Series’ styling! Two week ago we showed you the 2012 BMW 1-Series Hatchback with M Sport Package. Now we’re happy to share the first photos the “BMW Performance Studie 1-series”.

The Bavarian model was caught by cameras undisguised less than a month before its official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show at a private dealer meeting, and shows a cool bodykit that addresses some of the issues with the 1er’s odd looks.

Here you can clearly see the Performance front and rear bumpers which appear to be even more aggressively styled than the F20 M-Sport front bumper. Beside this, also present are the performance stripes and a new Performance wheel in what looks like 19″ size.

Considering that the spied model has the 120d badge, means that it’s powered by the 2.0 liter diesel engine, with 184 horsepower at 4.000 rpm and 389 Nm of torque in stock, giving it 7.2 seconds for the 0 to 100 km/h sprint and a top speed of 228 km/h (142 mph).

The German brand might release some official information on this car pretty soon, maybe even before or during the Frankfurt IAA next month.
