2012 Lancia Flavia Cabrio – First Look

Yes, you know Lancia. It’s that car manufacturer that builds remakes of other firms’ vehicles, especially Chrysler. Well, they’re doing it again, this time, the remake is called the Lancia Flavia Cabrio, and it will be officially presented at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

The Lancia Flavia Cabrio is a modified Chrysler 200 Convertible. There will only be one engine option available: a 2.4-liter gasoline engine that delivers 175 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque. If you were to ask me, I’d say that 175 horsepower isn’t as good as necessary from a 2.4-liter engine. Most of the cars these days (especially sports cars) return about 100 horsepower per liter, and this engine would have a long way to go before reaching that kind of values. It’s obvious that this car isn’t made for speed, but rather for social dazzling.

The inside only comes in one version that gets all of the extras: light alloy wheels, ESC (electronic stability control), leather, electric, heated seats, electric mirrors, automatic climate control, electrically controllable soft top, keyless start, sat-nav and a new Boston high end six-speakers audio system with a 40GB hard disk.

We’ll wait and see how this vehicle does on the roads. Lancia officials claim that critics have been giving them good reviews so far.
