Next month the brand new Porsche “991” series 911 is set for world debut, but Porsche isn’t pleased with so little, so, shortly after, the German car maker will also introduce new-generations of the Boxster and Cayman models.

Keeping the brand’s classic theme, the Boxster and Cayman are only due for some minor styling changes. Still, the most important change will be under the skin, where things will be revamped completely.

Today we can show you the latest spy video of a prototype for the new Porsche Cayman as it runs up some test miles on the Nurburgring race track in Germany, and on some of the surrounding roads. You can watch it below.

The new models of Boxster and Cayman will come with a big change – the introduction of turbocharged four-cylinder engines in place of the naturally aspirated six-cylinder units found in the outgoing models. Peak output from the smaller engines (turbocharged four-cylinder) should match the horsepower figures of the ones they replace (the naturally aspirated six-cylinder)

Price:
– The details about the pricing for the upcoming models are still unknown, but keep in mind that the prices will be slightly higher than the current models, which cost
– 2011 Porsche Boxter – $48,100 – $61,800
– 2011 Porsche Cayman – $51,900 – $62,100
Specs: Expect a reveal of the new Cayman in the second half of 2012
