by SpeedLux

Honda has now officially released are the first images of the 2014 Honda Fit/Jazz.

Till now we have already seen several leaked photos with the new Fit/Jazz but these images are the first official ones published by the company showing a design with some influences from the 2012 Insight with angular headlamps and a large front bumper.

However Honda did not provide photos with the rear, but the previous leaked images from one of the brochures showed the model comes with Volvo inspired taillights and a ventilated bumper.

These official images are depicting the hybrid version which makes use of a new four-cylinder, 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle engine that works together with a high-output electric motor, lithium-ion battery and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Thanks to this setup, the 2014 Honda Fit/Jazz Hybrid is able to achieve a fuel economy of 36.4 km/l (85.6 mpg US / 102.8 mpg UK or 2.7 liters / 100 km).

The 2014 Honda Fit/Jazz Hybrid comes with a choice of three driving modes: EV, Hybrid and Engine, which means that it can run as a zero-emission electric car, as a hybrid or as a conventionally-powered vehicle.

Full details of the model will be released closer to the launch in Japan scheduled for September.
