2014 Volkswagen Golf VII Estate spied and rendered

As per the recent reports, some spies have managed to click pictures of the first test prototype for the upcoming 2014 Volkswagen Golf estate. The images clearly show us that the whole design has been based on the hatchback version, but will adopt a larger boot, which according to the sources would offer to accommodate an additional 120 liters (4.2 cubic feet) of luggage, the model is also set to come with a roof rack for even more cargo carrying capability.

As for the engine options, the rumor suggest that engine options may be as follows: a 1.2-liter TSI engine producing 85 HP (63 kW) and 105 HP (77 kW), a 1.4-liter TSI with outputs of 122 HP (90 kW) and 140 HP (103 kW), a 1.6-liter TDI engine with 105 PS (77 kW) and 250 Nm (185 lb-ft) of torque, and lastly a 2.0-liter TDI with 150 PS (110 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque.

Reports claim that the car will be showcased in the Geneva Motor Show, next year, until then stay tuned and don’t forget to take a look at the images.
