by SpeedLux

The Nissan car lovers are going to get a sprint in their expectations. As per the inside resources, the Japanese carmaker has decided to fit a 7-Speed dual clutch transmission in Nissan GT-R. This may happen by the end of the current year and will be a part of 2015 Nissan GT-R. It will replace the existing 6-Speed dual clutch kit.

The increase in number of gears is the latest trend in the automotive industry. Some of the carmakers who have already announced the shift in gears are Land Rover who has introduced its ZF 9-Speed transmission in the Range Rover Evoque replacing the 6-speed transmission unit; Chrysler will introduce the first ever 9 speed automatic transmission gearbox in US in its 2014 Jeep Cherokee.

The car will be able to accelerate to 100 kmph in mere 2.7 seconds with this new transmission. The chief engineer of the Nissan GT-R, Kazutoshi Mizuno is aiming to clock the fastest lap at the Nürburgring. He plans to complete the lap in 7 minutes and 15 seconds which will better its record by 3 seconds.
