It is not very often that you get to see a Lamborghini Murcielago, so it is hard to believe at first that a 4,000th Murcielago has left the factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese.

Production of the Murcielago started in 2001 and it was automaker’s first new design in eleven years replacing the Diablo, which saw a total production of around 2,900 units. First Murcielago featured a 6.2-liter V12 with 580 horsepower and 480 lb-ft torque.

4,000th Murcielago is a LP670-4 SV model with an orange paint scheme, and will go to a customer in China. Power comes from a 670 hp 6.5-liter V12 engine. 0-100km/h comes in just 3.2sec, and top speed is 342 km/h (212mph).

Only 350 SuperVeloce special series models will be produced. Replacement for the Murcielago is already in testing and is expected to arrive in 2011.
