In 87-Yr History September Was Highest Selling Month For Mercedes

by SpeedLux

Mercedes has achieved a sales figure like never before. It has sold the highest number of its vehicles last month in its own history. The 87-year-old company sold 142,994 cars in September even though the pace has been slow in recent months in the US market for all cars.

Large part of the credit goes to the redesigned E-Class lineup and also the new compacts like the CLA-Class and the A-Class vehicles.

The biggest market for Mercedes last month too was Europe. Half of its global sales came from the continent. Also, the sales from Asia too are picking up pace and China remained to be the top market for the auto giant in the region.

In the US the company could manage to increase a sales figure of just 7 percent in the month of September compared to the same month last year. In the Japanese market, however, the move was fastest by 31.4 percent.

Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Dr. Joachim Schmidt said that never anytime before the company managed to sell more vehicles in just one month. He added that the new S-Class is a market leader in Europe and Germany.
