An 88-year-old man passed away Friday afternoon at a hospital after being struck by a car in West San Jose, police stated.
The accident was reported prior to 11 a.m. on Williams Road at Camellia Way. San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia stated the man was crossing Williams beyond a crosswalk when he was struck by a silver Pontiac.
The man was hurried to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead right before 3 p.m., Garcia stated.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with cops, Garcia stated. Alcohol is not believed as a factor in the crash.
The traffic casualty is the 15th of the year and the 11th including a pedestrian, Garcia stated.
