Two killed and two injured after car crashes in Snook, Texas

Two people are dead and two others were injured after a BMW driver fled a traffic stop and evaded officials before losing control of the vehicle and hitting a tree.

The accident took place at about 2 p.m. on County Road 269 between Park Street and County Road 270, when the chase and the crash happened after a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper tried a traffic stop about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday on Main Street in Snook, Texas.

The driver fled from the scene onto County Road 269 and continued evading law enforcement until the driver lost control and hit a tree.

The two backseat passengers of the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and other passenger were flown by helicopter to CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan.

DPS is investigating the crash.
