Two killed after car crash in Lady Lake, Florida

Two were killed and two others injured after the car they were driving crashed into construction barricades on Sunday.

18-year-old identified as Xander Babcock, of Fruitland Park, was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and was moving south on U.S. Highway 27/441 when the crash took place at 3:15 a.m.

The car also hit several barricades, went into a ditch, and overturned.

The driver and two back seat occupants were not using seat belts.

The driver and a 17-year-old passenger from Leesburg were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 15-year-old passenger was admitted to Ocala hospital in critical condition.

A 16-year-old front seat passenger was hospitalized as well.

Lady Lake Police Department is investigating the crash.
