Two killed after car crashed into Lexington creek

Two people were killed after a vehicle crashed into a creek in Lexington, Kentucky on Wednesday night.

The officials were notified of the crash at 9 p.m. regarding a car being submerged in a creek near Delong Road.

Lexington police, the Fayette County coroner, and an accident reconstruction team attended the crash site.

The two victims have been identified as a 32-year-old named John Mitchell Potter II and a 24-year-old named Shelby A. Stocker. Both were from Lexington.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Lexington Police Department is investigating the crash.
