Dreams will come true is what the French Automaker Citroen believes in and has started to work on it, with the idea being of bringing to life the luxury sedan and the Survolt sports car.
It is a constant endeavor for the French automaker to make a credible dent at the European luxury sedan market and to compete effectively with the top carmakers there. But the fact is, Citroen doesn’t seem to fare much because the C6 has not sold in numbers as was expected by Citroen. And now Citroen is pinning their hopes on the new Metropolis which could be the brand new DS9.
The PSA design boss Jean-Pierre Ploue commented to the Autocar magazine that, “We cannot afford to let the likes of Audi, Mercedes and BMW forge into Citroën’s heartland supermini territory without fighting back and pushing into theirs.”
He also admitted that, selling high end luxury cars in Europe is not an easy job seeing the present scenario, but he also added that the new DS9 could do marvels in the market for Citroen.
The new sports car, the Survolt has been already seen on the roads before, which was seen running on the Le Mans Classic race making a demonstration.
Company sources also confirmed that, “It’s still our intention to put the Survolt into low-volume production, and we’re pursuing the idea of a one-make race series.”
