Cadillac Escalade is the most preferred car of car thieves in United States

by Alex

Reports received from the Highway Loss Data Institute indicate that the Escalade is the car that has been reported as being a steal. It means this car has been stolen the most from its owner’s possession. That be so, there must be reasons enough for the car thieves to have a particular preference.

It is followed by the SUV and trucks in the order of preferred stolen vehicles as per records. In order of stolen merit the sequence is Ford F250 pickup, which is then trailed by the Infiniti G37, the Hemi Dodge Charger (not the V6) and the Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

The S80 Sedan model from Volvo, the Saturn Vue, the Nissan Murano and the Honda Pilot on the other hand has a record of not being in the preferred list of car thieves at all. The reason that could be attributed to this difference in preference amongst car thieves appears to the fuel consumption pattern of the vehicle with the gas guzzlers not being the preferred ones. It is chrome, horsepower and Hemis that seem to fascinate the car thieves the most. This derivation comes from Kim Hazelbaker, who is the institute’s senior vice president.

To prepare the report, details of vehicles stolen and claimed for by their owner at the insurance providers has been taken. The period of 2007 to 2009 has been covered under this report and includes vehicles of all these years. Basing on this report Cadillac have installed an engine immobilizer and a steering wheel lock with a computer key chip in the key fob to make the Escalade more theft resistant.

There is also the laminated glass window of the Escalade that makes the car difficult to break in to.
