Bugatti Veyron already holds the record of being one of the world’s most unique and costly supercars. Its astronomical costs is also one reason that has made the Veyron not just unique but also a rarity. Now add to that the limitless possibilities in which the Veryon can be customized and what you have is a supercar that you get the chance to identify yourself with more than anytime before. Bugatti went a step further to show the the Asian clientele the wide perimeter of customization possible when it revealed a special pair of Veyrons at the 2011 Auto Shanghai event.
To begin with, there is the customized variant of the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport model that made its first appearance at the Auto Shanghai Show held recently. The Super Sport that was presented in the show came clad in gorgeous black carbon fiber outfit. Some of the parts such as the logos, the alloy wheels, the fuel filler cap, along with the lid at the rear come finished in a polished, anodized aluminum make up that add character to the entire package. The car derives its power form an engine with a max power rating of 1200 HP. That is a massive amount of power but pretty much usual for Veyrons.
A sneak peek into the interiors of the car reveals that the supercar has been draped in a double tone “Snow Beige” and “Beluga Black” leather clothes along with heaps of trim made of carbon fiber. Bugatti made the statement that this particular bespoke version of the Super Sport has already been sold out to a customer based in China.
There was also a second model that graced the Bugatti stand at the show and which the company claims has been made specifically for the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show. The Grand Sport, as it is named, has the body done in a matte white tone. The same color is to be found on the prominent air intakes placed on the roof of the car as well. The lower portion of the body of the car is made of carbon fiber and carries a blue tune which is also the color that the alloy wheels are painted in, something that also adds a hint of contrast to the car’s exterior. The same color is found in the inside of the car which gets complemented by the stitching done in white on the seats, the steering wheel, the gear lever, along with the console made of aluminum.
To quote Wolfgang Durheimer, the President of Bugatti, “this Grand sport is an example of the versatile possibilities customers have when designing their unique Grand Sport in co-operation with the Bugatti team.” To add more, he said, “We will continue to expand the design possibilities for the Bugatti brand.”
