It is out of the question that the regular variant of the Nissan Juke does not have what it takes to tackle heavily snowy roads. Well, Nissan is well aware of this and the Japanese automaker is now working on a variant especially designated for tackling such a road condition. Behold the special edition Nissan Juke Nismo RSnow.
Unfortunately, the Japanese company will only be building one example of this very vehicle model. In order to tackle snowy roads, the car comes with tracks. As it turns out, the car is meant to be a support vehicle that will be used in an upcoming ice drifting event. The event in question will reportedly take place at Lapland, Finland.
This special edition Juke from Nissan is not necessarily something that people can take for granted, either. The car counts on an all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain mated to an Xtronic automatic transmission system. As mentioned earlier, replacing the regular wheels of the Nissan Juke is a Dominator Track System. This track has come as a result of the works performed by the American Track Truck.
Nothing has changed much on the special edition vehicle when compared to its regular variant counterpart. Only, this one has been treated with slight tweaks on its front and rear fascias. In addition to that, the Japanese automaker also has to reprogram the vehicle’s torque vectoring AWD drivetrain.
For its performance, the car counts on a turbocharged 1.6L 4-cylinder DIG-T engine. This engine is believed to have a peak power output of 218 hp and a peak torque of 280 Nm. Thanks to this engine, the Nissan Juke Nismo RSnow is actually well capable of reaching the speed mark of 100 km/h, which is considerably excellent for such a snow vehicle, to be honestly speaking.
