When there is a multitude of similar products in the same line been created by one single company or manufacturer what method could the company use to find out which is the best of them all. A poll is the most common way to do this and especially when the poll is thrown open to the general public, it draws some attention as well to the products. Alfa Romeo has therefore adopted just this process to assess the 70 odd models that they have produced in their life time of 100 years. The poll returned the result that the Alfa Romeo GTAM is the best and by whiskers the lead was ahead of the 8C Competizione.
This car had been produced by Alfa Romeo in 1970-1971 and is a two door coupe. The engine that powers this car is a 2.0 liter straight 4 unit that delivers 240 hp. The engine was derived from a 1750 GT Veloce which had a SPICA mechanical fuel injection system. The GTAm has won the 1970 European Touring Car Championship and was driven by Dutchman Toine Hezemans. During the polls it received 20.4 percent votes while the 8C Competizione received 19.8 percent votes.
The number of votes pooled is a sure shot indication of the popularity of the Alfa Romeo as a car maker and the fact that Giulia GTAm came out on the top speaks hordes about the car. There is the latest of GTAm available on sale at dealers in UK.
