Audi Q3 Camping Tent debuts at Wörthersee 2014

by Max Richardson

Audi has unveiled the Q3 for campers and hikers at this year’s Wörthersee in Austria. Equipped with Audi Original Accessories like new alloy wheels and a roof rack that holds a kayak, the Q3 also comes with a big tent which can be rolled out at the rear.

The tent can be inflated and ready within roughly seven minutes.

The specs are impressive and true campers would love to see it available soon as it has a wind load rating rating of up to 70 km/h (43 mph) and is fully free-standing but can be fastened to the opened tailgate of the Q3 if desired to keep it in place. That also connects the tent and car to a bigger area.

The Q3 itself is stock using a 2.0-liter TDI four-cylinder engine producing 177 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, taking it from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 8.2 seconds when equipped with an optional seven-speed S tronic transmission.
