Audi To Support U.S. DTM Series in 2016

by SpeedLux

The famous DTM championship is being championed by Audi as a prime candidate for a new race series in the United States.

The company is making plans to support a U.S. racing series which would feature DTM style race cars. However, it is not clear if they are planning a standalone DTM series or pushing for homologation of the DTM chassis in a series like the ALMS.

Scott Keogh, President of Audi America, stated to the press that the company had a strong and spectacular history in US motorsport and that the racing series would be one of the best ways to make the presence of Audi felt.

The company is also using this opportunity to market their RS model series as this is one of the car’s top markets for the company. Scott stated that Audi RS models are quite popular in US and the customers would be pleased to see the Audi RS 5 DTM in action.
