Audi TT RS will be launched in America next year

by Alex

In a survey carried out on Facebook last month there were 11,500 fans who had registered their desire for the TT RS from Audi. This car was rated as the spicy hot result from Audi. Audi have now announced that this five cylinder coupe model would be arriving at the US market by the third quarter of 2011. The TT RS in its coupe version only would be available in the US. The price and performance features of the final car would be announced closer to the date of its actual arrival in the market.

President of Audi, America, Johan de Nysschen said “With performance and agility rooted in Audi motorsports success, the TT RS is truly an emotional sports car. That emotion became abundantly clear as we explored interest across the country.”

The five cylinder engine on the Audi TT RS is known to produce 340 hp even though press release indicates the power to be three times of the same 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine. That engine produces 360 hp and 332 lb ft torque and is installed on the European models.

For transmission the car would have a six-speed manual transmission and quattro all-wheel drive system. This would enable the TT RS to do the 0 to 62 mph sprint in 4.6 seconds. However error in the press release mentions this range to be 0 to 60 mph.
