As in the case of Nissan with its Nismo, BMW with its M division and Mercedes-Benz with its AMG, the British automaker, McLaren, also has a special operations division, appropriately named the McLaren Special Operations, or MSO for short. Now, this special division of McLaren has unveiled a special edition vehicle model with only one example ever going to be built. Well, here comes the one-off McLaren MSO 650S Project Kilo!
According to the British automaker and its aforementioned special division team, the 650S Project Kilo will be one of the most bespoke, personalized projects that McLaren and its MSO division have ever built for all these years. One thing that makes the car special is its long list of carbon fiber components. Speaking of that, buyers of the only 650S in question will be eligible for carbon fiber sill panels, rear diffuser, roof and also an instrument panel that comes integrated with shift lights as standard.
In addition to those carbon fiber elements, the special edition McLaren 650S we are talking about here also features oil filler and aluminum water caps that are painted in a hue identical to that of the body panel. Keen buyers can also expect to receive McLaren Orange emblems, McLaren Orange inner door seams featuring the MSO emblems and even an exhaust heat shield plated in 24 carat gold.
There is one thing that is rather remarkable when it comes to the one-off McLaren 650S Project Kilo from MSO. It is the small kiwi bird drawing visible on the engine cover. According to McLaren, this represents New Zealand which happens to be where Bruce McLaren was born. In case you do not know, the latter is the founder of the British automaker in question.
