The luxury automotive marquee from the Great Britain, Bentley, has announced a new special edition variant of its flagship model, Mulsanne. The special edition will bear the Bentley Mulsanne Speed Blue Train moniker. It is said that the car is going to have its world premiere held at the upcoming Techno Classica event.
According to Bentley, the special edition Mulsanne is meant for the celebration of the 85th anniversary of a race event known as the ‘Blue Train’. However, the car is intended for celebrating the particular instance of the event in which Captain Woolf Barnato, the chairman of the luxury British marquee, came out the victor back in the year 1930.
As a special edition model, the car in question sports a redesigned front grille that is decorated with a square mesh pattern which looks somewhat similar to that of the company’s original Speed Six model. The car can also be seen sitting firmly on a set of black alloy wheels.
On the interior of the car, customers will find tread plates that appropriately reads ‘Blue Train 85 Years’. Heck, the cabin even has a veneer image, an expertly crafted one, depicting the company’s original ‘Blue Train’ Speed Six model. On the door panels, customers will also find a fluting pattern that will most likely remind loyal Bentley fans of the Barnato’s car. According to Bentley, the first example of the aforementioned special edition Mulsanne variant will also benefit from an Angora picnic rug, crystal champagne flutes from LINLEY, porcelain crockery from the Haviland Lamoges and also silver plated cutlery with the Robbe & Berking badging.
Speaking of the Bentley Mulsanne Speed Blue Train, Richard Charlesworth, the boss of Bentley Heritage Collection, explains that the Blue Train perfectly represents the racing spirit of the luxury British marquee, thanks to the Blue Train being one of the world’s most popular and hence celebrated vehicles. Unfortunately, there will only be exactly four examples of the special edition model ever built and they will only be available within the European continent.
