BMW 7-Series Secretly Caught on Camera

by SpeedLux

BMW has begun the process of testing the next in the line 7-Series and the same has been caught on camera.

Set to be launched in late 2015 or the following year, the revitalized model appears to adopt an extraordinary design which clearly shadows it predecessors. Nothing much can be seen right now, but the sample has an imposing look due to a long hood and a large passenger compartment.

Engine choice is not clear right now, but earlier reports have pointed out at the possible choices which could include a 260 bhp (194 kW) four-cylinder, a 340 bhp (254 kW) six-cylinder and a 460 bhp (343 kW) V8. There have also been news about plug-in hybrid versions as well as an M770i xDrive that could use a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 which doles out around 475 hp (354 kW / 482 PS) and 480 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque. The future of the V12 engine is uncertain, but no decision in this regard has been taken yet.

Irrespective of the whatever is offered, the next to come 7-Series is expected to depend on a lightweight architecture that mixes aluminum and carbon fiber. This could allow the luxury sedan to weigh as much as 450 lbs (204 kg) less than its predecessor.

Let us wait and watch the proceedings taking place but for now let us have fun clicking the pictures.
