The Shanghai division of the American automotive marquee, General Motors (GM), has officially released an image that teases the company’s next generation Buick Verano model. It is reported that this car will be making its world debut come April 19, 2015. That is very close, isn’t it?
According to a statement made by Buick, the upcoming Verano model will have its visual styling heavily influenced by that of the 2015 Buick Avenir concept car and also the 2013 Buick Riviera concept. In the European continent, Buick says, the upcoming Verano will be known as the Opel Astra Sedan instead. In addition to that, the Shanghai General Motors, which is a joint venture run by GM along with a Chinese company, gives its word that the car will deliver a refreshing driving experience to those who are willing enough to spend their cash on the model. The company also adds that the interior of the vehicle will be highly comfortable as well as exquisite. As for the driver, the car now offers not only powerful but also precise performance.
Judging by the spy photos previously made available, it is very likely for the car to have a bigger body this time. This can also indicate that an extended wheelbase version is in the works as well. If this is correct, the rear passengers will get to enjoy better comfort this time.
The car will reportedly count on the D2XX chassis, a chassis that is also used by the next generation Chevrolet Cruze (China-spec) and the next generation Opel Astra (Euro-spec). Taking that into account, the car may lose quite a considerable amount of weight in spite of its bigger body size.
For more details on the upcoming Buick Verano, you may want to keep an eye on the day before the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show kicks off.
