Cadillac ATS convertible and wagon under consideration

Cadillac has recently announced in the ongoing show in Detroit that the ATS could receive convertible and wagon derivatives sometime in the future.

Cadillac’s global chief Bob Ferguson made the announcement while the 2015 ATS Coupe is being showcased at the ongoing North American International Auto Show (NASIAS) and it seems from the announcement that the company has serious plans to diversify the ATS lineup beyond the existing sedan and coupe body styles. While giving an interview to Automotive News, Bob Ferguson acknowledged that an ATS convertible as well as a wagon are being considered.

The convertible will probably be the first to see the light of production day taking into account that GM product chief Mark Reuss had said that plans for an ATS Convertible were pretty much designed. Way back in 2012

Until these two models come out, we can expect to see a high-performance ATS-V before the end of the year. If the rumors are to be believed, the model will make use of a newly developed 3.2-liter twin-turbo V6 engine generating an output in excess of 500 hp (373 kW).
