Citroën GT Concept goes live

Initially developed for the Gran Turismo 5 PS3 game, the Citroën GT will hit the producing line and only 6 of them will be built. All the features but the engine will be as seen as in the concept.

The expected price of 1.5 million Euros and limited production will make Citroen GT one of most exclusive supercars.

Despite of the actual economic crisis, the Citroën’s product boss Vincent Besson finally green lighted the project with a total production of 6 units. After its introduction at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and the passion that followed, it has been rumoured that Citroen might bring the GT to live. Expected production decreased from 20 to 15 units but 6 seems to be final cut.
If the original concept featured a fuel cell powertrain outputting 646 bhp, the street car is likely to get a more conventional V8 petrol engine, either from GM or Ford. The Corvette ZR1 supercharged V8 and its 647 bhp would certainly be the perfect match.
