The team at Mopar that has only “more power” for your car in mind recently released details about the Drag Pak for the 2010 Dodge Challenger. You might want to place your orders soon cause no doubt this speed monster will be gone before you know it. The company offered 100 Drag Pak for the 2009 Challenger and they were sold out lighting fast. Even the legendary Don Garlits had to get his hands on one, went out of retirement and took the Drag Pak he got to the US Nationals.
The 2010 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak will be offered to the first 100 lucky speed maniacs who want to ride this racer. The Drag Pak Challenger will be built following the guidelines to fit in Comp Eliminator, Super Stock, and NHR Stock classes.
Sorry to hurt your ego but you can’t drive this baby on the streets. The Dodge Drag Pak is not street legal. The tag price of $39,999 though is well worth it. Under the hood of the Challenger you will find a Hemi V8 6.1L that can be coupled to your choice of six speed manual gearbox or a five speed transmission in automatic.
The Drag Pak version will derive its DNA from the 2010 Challenger SRT8 and will be using a Stock Elminator setup. The cars will be shedding off 1,000 pounds compared to their streetcar configuration. Just imagine what the SRT8 can do on the streets if it only tips the scales at 3,200 pounds.
The Stone White package will give the car a composite hood fitted with a functional scoop, seats similar to a Dodge Viper, polycarbonate windows, special cable for the pedals and throttle linkage, steering on a manual rack-and-pinion setup, a deck lid release controlled via a special cable, and a host of lightweight materials used for the cooling module and assemblies for the front brakes.
