An 18-year-old football player of Euclid High School has died in a Saturday morning car accident in Euclid, Ohio.
A release from the Euclid Police Department says that Herman Taylor, a Euclid High School football player, and two other students were injured in a car crash that took place at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Dille Road around 4:15 a.m.
EPD says that it seems the 18-year-old was driving a Nissan Rogue on Euclid Avenue Saturday morning when the vehicle veered off the road then hit a traffic box, flipped over, and caught fire.
The other two students, who are football players for the Euclid Panthers as well, were taken to a local hospital and their injuries are non-life-threatening.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of the victims of this horrible tragedy,” Euclid police said in a statement.
Officials say that the investigation is presently ongoing and there are no known causes for the car crash at this time.
