Volkswagen‘s joint endeavor in China, FAW-Volkswagen Automobile, will recall 577,590 Golf and Sagitar automobiles due to a headlight fuse defect that may result in safety risks, the quality watchdog stated on Wednesday.
The recall covers 416,364 Golfs produced from September 2009 to May 2014, and 161,226 Sagitars produced from July 2010 to March 2012, stated the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
The watchdog informed the flaws might cause headlight failure.
FAW-Volkswagen, mostly owned by state-owned China FAW Group, could not be instantly reached for remark. Volkswagen China refused to comment.
In March, Volkswagen recalled more than 1 million Audi automobiles due to prospective leaks and coolant pumps faults.
The German automaker delivered almost 4 million vehicles in China in 2016, 2 fifth of its international sales.
