Ford ‘Blue Angels’ Mustang GT Sells At Auction For $400,000

Mustang has always been a loved car and for the fourth straight year, Ford Motor Company has created a one-off aviation-themed Mustangs that are auctioned off to benefit the EAA Young Eagles program. The unique 2012 “Blue Angels” Mustang GT, honors the Centennial of Naval Aviation.

This car have always garnered huge bids. Last year, an SR-71 Blackbird-themed Mustang built in collaboration with Shelby and Roush sold for $375,000, and previous years’ cars have sold for up to $500,000. As expected, this year was no exception with yesterday’s auction of theBlue Angels Mustang. The car commanded a high bid of $400,000, playing a large part of the $2.2 million dollars raised at the charity event. Beside this, the winner also received a Blue Angels flight helmet signed by the current flight team.

The exterior of this model features a unique blue chrome finish with a yellow gloss accent and “Blue Angels” scripted along with its iconic crest. The Blue Angels’ crest is also stitched into its leather Recaro seats. Under the skin, the “Blue Angels” Mustang is all performance with a super-charged 5.0L V8 engine producing more than 500-hp, Ford Racing handling pack, performance exhaust, and racetrack brake components.

Exterior features includes Creations ‘n Chrome custom blue chrome paint, hand-painted stripes and graphics and a Boss 302 front fascia. In addition to these this car comes with a custom rear wing, custom faux gas cap and HRE 590RS wheels.

Interior features include custom Recaro leather and Alcantara seats with yellow stripes and stitching, Alcantara steering wheel with yellow stitching, yellow stitching on door panel, Ford Racing dash-mounted triple gauges and Ford Racing start button. Beside all these comes with custom Blue Angels floor mats, custom Blue Angels gauges, seat belts with dual yellow stripes and Boss 302 Laguna Seca rear seat delete painted yellow.

When you talk about a Mustang you must say something about performances, and now it’s no exception because this car features Ford Racing supercharger system, Ford Racing handling pack, Brembo front brakes, Ford Racing exhaust system and last but not the least, Ford Racing front brake ducts.
