General Motors sees progress in wage talks with union in Mexico

General Motors made significant progress in wage negotiations with a new union representing thousands of workers at the automaker’s plant in central Mexico.

SINTTIA union is seeking a 19.2% wage hike when talks started in March.

“The meeting was productive, both parties showed the commitment we have for the workers of automaker’s plant in Silao,” the automaker said according to Reuters.

The talks would continue on May 5 in an effort to conclude a deal.
