The new Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition will be priced at ₤12,975 ($16,958) when it shows up in showrooms this month.
The five-door compact hatchback is less costly less than the present SE-trim i20 with the comparable engine, but Hyundai has managed to pack in more standard equipment.
The current addition sports Hyundai’s three-cylinder, 99bhp 1.0-litre turbocharged gas engine, that makes 99bhp and discharges CO2 emissions of 104g/km, putting it into band B for Vehicle Excise Duty. The existing SE-spec i20, with the exact same powertrain but smaller wheels, discharges 99g/km of CO2 and slots into the cheaper VED band A, however priced at ₤ 14,025 ($18,330) on the road.
The Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition travels on 16in alloy wheels and is readily available in an option of Polar White, Aqua Sparkling, Sleek Silver, Stardust Grey, Phantom Black or Red Passion surfaces.
Like the SE, the Turbo Edition obtains Bluetooth connection, a DAB digital radio, cruise control and speed limiter and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. In addition, the Turbo Edition includes a rear-view camera, automated lights and satellite navigation on a 7.0 in touchscreen.
Owners will get a complimentary seven-year TomTom Live Services membership for the sat-nav, which provides live traffic information, speed camera signals and weather condition updates.
A representative for Hyundai stated 1000 Turbo Editions would be coming to the UK at first, but more could follow if it proves popular with clients.
