Lexus Flooring the GS F Prototype at the Nurburgring

by SpeedLux

Rumor suggests that the luxury division of Toyota, Lexus, is going to launch the new 2016 Lexus GS F model next year. Well, it seems that the rumor is quite accurate, after all. Only recently, a camouflaged Lexus model was spied performing a test run at the infamous Nurburgring track in the western part of Germany. The car spied at the Nurburgring had camouflage on its side doors, front bumpers and also its rear bumpers. It is quite obvious that the car in question is the upcoming 2016 Lexus GS F, at least in its prototype form.

According to reports, the car will pack a naturally aspirated V8 engine with a total displacement of 5.0 liters. This engine is borrowed from the RC F variant of the model. It is believed that the engineers at Lexus will allow the GS F to reach a total power output of around 500 hp. As for the torque, it may range around 400 lb-ft. As a result, this car is likely to find no problem in going from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The top speed is expected to reach 270 km/h. With that being said, the car should prove to be a serious rival to the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and the BMW M5.

For the drivetrain, this prototype of the 2016 Lexus GS F counts on a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) drivetrain, similar to that of the RC F. In addition to that, the car will also offer four diverse driving modes, each of which will have a different impact on the car’s acceleration, transmission and its rear differential gearbox.

Much like its RC F and IS F variants, the prototype spotted at the Nurburgring is known to carry four stacked exhaust tips. Last but not least, the car also comes with a special set of sports rims.
