Mercedes-Benz has recently unveiled the electric Vision Golf Cart design study at 2013 Open Championship.
The golf cart has been created by the firm’s design department located in Carlsbad, California. The Vision Golf Cart is powered by an electric motor and has a battery pack which is charged automatically through a roof-mounted solar module or through manual charging.
The golf cart is controlled with a joystick installed on the center console which means that it can be driven by the passenger also. The console also comes with a multimedia panel with a rotatable docking station for an iPhone/iPad and support for USB connection. From this multimedia panel, the driver can control the AC, audio system, head-up display and will also be able to communicate with other golf carts or the clubhouse. Beneath the center console, there is a small fridge complemented by cup holders located between the seats.
The Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart also offers enough space for luggage and can accommodate two golf bags, along with various cargo spaces in the dashboard and center console for carrying smaller items such as golf balls, sun glasses and scorecards.
