MG CS crossover spied winter testing in Scandinavia

by SpeedLux

A prototype of the MG CS crossover has been caught on lens undergoing some last-minute testing in Scandinavia ahead of an official reveal likely to happen in April at the Beijing Motor Show.

MG’s first ever crossover was previewed in April 2013 by the CS concept and now it’s almost ready to reach dealerships. It was previously believed that the model would ride on the MG5 platform but some of the sources have informed that the CS will actually use the same architecture as the third-gen SsangYong Korando.

The wheelbase is expected to be about 2650mm long while engine lineup will include an MG-developed 1.5-liter turbo engine with output of 135 hp (101 kW) along with a Korando-derived 2.0-liter turbo engine outputting 204 hp (152 kW).

In terms of design, the prototype that can be seen in these photos comes with sweptback headlights, triangular air intakes, a sculpted bonnet and a spoiler mounted on the tailgate. Other noticeable feature is the dual exhaust arrangement as well as an upward sweeping beltline. Overall, the design seems to be pretty much similar to the aforementioned CS concept.
