MINI Cooper Convertible boat to take part in Dad Vail Regatta

by SpeedLux

It is well known that MINI had toyed with the idea of boating by unveiling the Cooper Yachtsman on April Fool’s Day last year. And this time they are more serious about this and so they have made an announcement that the Cooper Convertible boat will take part in Philadelphia’s Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta.

The MINI boat which was originally created as a part of their Not Normal campaign has a traditional hull and a fiberglass mold of a Cooper Convertible. It also comes fitted with a variety of authentic parts including the headlights, taillights and grille.

Amusingly, the MINI boat is set up so the wheels and tires spin which creates a superb illusion that the boat is a car is actually driving on water. The boat was built by ACI Composites and is powered by a 6 hp (4 kW) outboard motor.
