by David Bond

We all will have to patiently wait for the launch of the new ACURA NSX, which is slated to launch in there year of 2015! Sources say that the this car wont just be a showroom car, But it is believed to, That Acura is planning to take its new NSX to the racing! And they also announced the merger of Grand Am and the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), which indeed would turn out to be the perfect Platform for the launch of the car’s racing career!

Well Previous generations Acura aren’t old to the race tracks, They have been doing the rounds of the tracks, well now comments made by Steve Eriksen, the chief of Honda Performance Development (HPD), the Ohio-based Honda division is responsible for developing the new NSX, Speed is reporting that the Acura NSX will be entered into some form of GT racing, potentially as early as 2014.

Another issue would be determining if the racing version of the NSX sticks with the production version’s hybrid drivetrain or switches to a conventional powerplant. While Grand Am has announced new alternative drivetrain categories, current Le Mans GTE rules don’t allow them. Again, Honda Performance Development (HPD) would have to wait and see how the new regulations for Grand Am and ALMS turn out.

The story doesn’t end there, as because there is a speculation as to should the new NSX be developed for motorsport, Honda Performance Development (HPD) will also need to decide if the cars are raced through factory-backed teams or if customer teams are supported. Eriksen revealed that past success with the sales of customer race cars could lead to the new NSX being sold in racing trim to private customers.

Actually the New Acura NSX would be a big game changer at the event, whenever it will be held, as it would definitely be buit on a higher note than all the previous generation NSX’s! well lets hop that the new NSX rules the race tracks!
