The Japanese based automaker Nissan is planning to offer the next generation of the GT-R with a hybrid powertrain which was already confirmed earlier, but although it isn’t likely to reach the market until 2017/2018 because the car’s chief engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno’s health related issues. But with such strict fuel consumption regulations in the United States, the new GT-R will have to take significant steps to decrease its gas consumption and so they are planning to come up with the hybrid powertrain.
The upcoming Nissan GT-R will come as a hybrid, and the Japanese automaker will probably introduce the model with fuel saving technologies such as the stop/start system or the cylinder deactivation. The next Nissan GT-R is also expected to lose some weight. Some of the changes will include the change on the exterior, headlights and aerodynamic package are likely to receive a big makeover in an effort to further maximize downforce and high-speed stability.
