Japanese auto maker Nissan had recently announced that they will reportedly unveil a Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ competitor at the Tokyo Motor Show so it comes as little surprise that the company is talking smack about the aforementioned models.
In a recent interview, Nissan executive vice president Andy Palmer described the BRZ as a midlife crisis car that was designed for a “50-year-old.” He went on to ask Motor Trend’s Nate Martinez if he was coming to the Tokyo Motor Show where he will be able to see the answer to the midlife crisis, except it wont be for the midlife crisis. What has been said by the executive sounds a little vague but Palmer said that the car would appeal to male auto enthusiasts who are in their mid- to late 20s.
Not much detail is available about the car as of now but there have been reports that indicate that it will be a thinly veiled concept that could head for production. Speculation suggests that it could come equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that would generate an output of 197 hp (147 kW) but the same has not been officially confirmed as of yet.
