Nissan Motor‘s manufacturing plant located in Sunderland, northeast England, has been impacted by a cyber attack that has hit almost 100 nations, a spokesman for the automaker stated on Saturday.
“Like many companies all over the world, some Nissan entities were just recently targeted by a ransomware attack. Our teams are responding appropriately and there has actually been no major effect on our business,” he stated.
He said the scenario at the plant, which employs 7,000, continued to be watched.
On Friday, cyber extortionists deceived victims into opening harmful malware attachments to spam emails that appeared to include billings, job deals, security warnings and other legitimate files.
The attack disrupted Britain’s health system and other companies like Renault.
