Well many of you might think or might be wondering as to what sense does it make reading this news especially if you belong to the US region. In the United States, the Renault Alpine DeZir is not available for sales. Of course, why would anybody even care about a car that he or she cannot buy? If you are not able to reason it out then, here comes the answer. Well it is very simple, as of now we do not know as to when the Renault may return to the US shores. Nevertheless if it does, the new Alpine would lead for sure.
Leave aside this factor. The news holds its due significance because of the fact that the super sports sedan, even if this car does not make it to America, is indeed a special car to know about. In the company’s history, the Alpine sports car holds a very special place. Under Renault ownership of the Alpine company, the super sports sedan was the first car to make its debut. The sport vehicle was in the act of production starting from year 1986 and lasting until the year 1991. The A610, a new Alpine in 1991, was announced and it was continued to be manufactured up to the year 1995.
Regardless of the fact that both the mechanical creations had quite an aesthetic appeal, they could not just achieve the sales success as against the expectation set by Renault. The A610 model was among the ones, which the motoring press had highly appreciated and loved, but failed to succeed in the market. Notably the sports sedan had even been granted with an approval of Top Gear. Nevertheless, all accolades could not help Renault to bring in any success and continued flow of sales order registration in the marketplace.
The interesting part is however that in spite of this poor sales performance in the past, Renault is seriously considering the options and is optimistic to bring the Alpine sports car back. Auto experts and analysts believe that the super sports vehicle is likely to make its debut at the Paris Auto Show. However, we are not sure how authentic this analysis shall turn out in near future so we are keeping our fingers crossed at this point.
The production versions of the Alpine are likely to hit the showrooms not earlier than the year 2012. DeZir is expected to be new name for the sports vehicle. Lastly, it is not likely to be an extreme replacement of the Renault Spider either.
