Rendering: 2012 Brabus Rocket based on CLS 63 AMG

by Will Parker

Brabus is one of the few tuning companies who have managed to not disappoint us even once. Recently Brabus amazed us with its latest achievements including their 800HP Mercedes E-Klasse CabrioletAerodynamic-Enhancement Kit For The Mercedes E- And S- Class AMG or their unique Mercedes SLK. However, the tuner prepares something new for us and after releasing a teaser image of its new creation ahead of the next month Frankfurt Motor Show. Well, now we can present you a rendering of this car, thanks to PS-Garage, who released a fine interpretation of this teaser.

The artist started from the premise that the model is an CLS, judging by the headlamps and mirrors.

As a reminder, the “old” Rocked’s output is of 730 hp and 810 lb-ft (1,100) Nm of torque. The torque actually had to be electronically limited, with the original figure being 970 lb-ft (1,320 Nm).

All this power means that the vehicle could hit 62 mpg from a standing start in 4 seconds flat, while the 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) sprint was covered in 10.5 seconds. As for the top speed, this sits at 227.2 mph (365.7 km/h), being electronically limited to 220 mph (350 km/h).

The Mercedes-Benz fans, are awaiting for a new Rocket model, the fastest saloon, produced by Brabus, back in 2005, which was also based on that time’s CLS AMG and they’ll have the chance to see it at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, an event that will officially open its gates on the 15th of September so it’s almost here. As for the new model from Brabus, we’ll find out more details at the right time, so stay tuned for news.

Finally, keep in mind that this is just an interpretation of what the new model will look like, we will know by sure, how the real version will look like, in about a month.
